Common Questions About Our Trails
Everything you need to know about exploring Karlovy Vary's spa parks and viewpoints
All our routes are designed specifically for active seniors and mature adults. We offer three difficulty levels—easy (mostly flat, 45–60 minutes), moderate (gentle slopes, 90–120 minutes), and adventurous (varied terrain, up to 3 hours)—so you can choose what suits you. Every walk includes built-in rest stops at scenic viewpoints, and you set the pace. No rushing, no pressure.
Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) are perfect—mild temperatures, fewer crowds, and stunning light for photography. Summer can be busy and warm, while winter brings icy patches that make some trails risky. That said, winter walks through the parks have their own quiet beauty if you're sure-footed.
Comfortable walking shoes with good grip are all you really need. The spa park trails are well-maintained and mostly paved or compacted gravel. We always recommend bringing water, sunscreen, and a light jacket—weather in the mountains changes quickly. A walking pole or trekking stick can help with confidence on steeper sections if you'd like extra support.
Many of the main viewpoints—including Diana's Lookout and the Colonnade area—are accessible or have alternative routes nearby. We include detailed accessibility notes for each location (parking, stairs, seating) on our route guides, so you can plan ahead. If you have specific mobility needs, get in touch before booking and we'll find the perfect walk for you.
A leisurely half-day walk (2–3 hours including rest stops) is plenty to enjoy one main trail and grab lunch. If you want to combine multiple routes or spend time photographing, plan a full day (5–6 hours) and bring a picnic. The parks aren't going anywhere—many visitors come back season after season to explore different corners.
Yes, we run small group walks most weekends and can arrange private guided experiences for groups of 4 or more. Group walks are social and a great way to meet other people exploring the trails. Private tours let you set your own schedule and focus on what interests you most—whether that's photography, history, or just peaceful walking. Reach out to chat about what works best for you.
